On Wednesday, the Ondo State Police Command announced the detention of three people in connection with the alleged murder of a naval officer known only as Akingbohunmi in the Idoani community of the state’s Ose Local Government Area.
Akingbohunmi was attacked on Monday while having a disagreement with a commercial motorcycle rider in the state,
Akingbohunmi was attacked and suffered serious injuries that required immediate medical attention; however, the attending physician later declared her dead.
According to a source, the suspects were located and detained in a number of places both inside and outside of the community after the search party was organized by the community leaders to find them.
According to reports, the community leaders who visited the Imeri community’s Naval School, where the deceased was a student, made a promise to the administration that all suspects would be brought to justice within a day.
The source revealed that one of the suspects was caught while trying to flee arrest by walking to the town of Oka Akoko in the state’s Akoko South West Local Government Area, while another suspect was apprehended at his home.
Three of the suspects have been arrested, and we are still looking for three more people who were involved in the incident, according to Funmilayo Odunlami, the state police’s public relations officer. The suspects will soon be brought to state headquarters.
According to a source, many adult males who left the town after the incident because they were afraid of being arrested haven’t yet come back.
